A fully blind student named Chen Lin completed her three-year junior high education at Lianhua Middle School in Futian District, Shenzhen, and gained admission to Shenzhen Arts High School with a cultural examination score of 411 points and a vocal music interview score of 98 points.1 This enrollment marks a significant milestone, as it represents the first instance of a fully blind student attending regular classes at Lianhua Middle School in its more than thirty-year history, and the first such case in Shenzhen's ordinary secondary schools.1

The school provided two computers equipped with braille translation software, a complete set of braille textbooks, and two head teachers dedicated to Chen Lin's support.1 Her mother invested considerable effort daily, spending several hours translating textbooks into braille and converting Chen Lin's braille assignments back into Chinese characters.1 Beyond academics, Chen Lin actively participated in school life, serving as the class music representative and performing on stage at the campus arts festival.1 Municipal and district education authorities ensured her examination accommodations by providing an independent standardized test venue, braille paper test papers, a braille typewriter, and extended testing time.1 On September 3rd, Chen Lin's mother presented a commemorative banner to Lianhua Middle School in recognition of the school's dedication and support.1
