A comprehensive survey of over 1,000 One Nation voters has revealed that the party's supporters are predominantly older blue-collar workers who feel deeply alienated from mainstream political institutions.1 The research, conducted by former Labor pollsters, found that these voters prioritize immigration and cost of living issues, with 67 percent reporting their household circumstances have deteriorated over the past three to four years.1
More than 60 percent of One Nation voters are male, over three-quarters own their own homes, and approximately 60 percent remain in the workforce.1 Significantly, 38 percent of the party's supporters previously voted for the Coalition, while 71 percent believe most politicians prioritize their own interests rather than the nation's welfare.1 The survey also found that 91 percent of One Nation voters think the country is heading in the wrong direction, compared to 58 percent of the general population.1
On immigration specifically, 42 percent of One Nation voters express greatest concern about the volume of arrivals, while 28 percent worry about pressure on housing and services and 17 percent focus on crime and safety.1 When asked why they support reduced immigration, 57 percent cite concerns that migrants are changing Australia's culture and identity.1 Regarding party choice, 45 percent support One Nation because of its policy positions, 34 percent cite disappointment with other parties, and 20 percent identify Pauline Hanson as a factor.1 The survey indicates that while 52 percent of One Nation voters have firmly decided their voting intention, 40 percent switched to supporting the party within the past year.1 Additionally, 87 percent of respondents believe One Nation has clear and viable plans, and 50 percent think the party could potentially win power in its own right.1
