More than a dozen survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse issued a statement on Wednesday calling on billionaire Leon Black to appear before the House Oversight Committee on Thursday and comply with its subpoena.1 The survivors demanded that Black produce all nondisclosure agreements related to his dealings with Epstein.1
Black had paid Epstein "tens of millions of dollars" in fees and faces accusations of delaying and obstructing the committee's investigation.1 According to the survivors' statement, the billionaire knew in 2008 that Epstein had pleaded guilty to state crimes involving the prostitution of minors.1 However, Black has claimed that he did not learn of these criminal activities until July 2019, when Epstein was charged with trafficking.1 Republican Committee Chairman James Comer has threatened to pursue contempt of Congress charges against Black if he refuses to cooperate.1
Despite President Trump signing the Epstein File Transparency Act nearly a year ago, millions of documents remain unreleased.1
