Eighteen-year-old Anaya Hariharran has completed her final year of high school while simultaneously pursuing two demanding music qualifications in Victoria, Australia. 1 Beginning vocal training at age six, Hariharran spent twelve years developing her craft before undertaking both VCE and VET music courses in her final secondary year. 1 Her achievements in music performance earned her the Victorian Premier's VCE Award for VCE VET studies. 1
The dual program presented distinct challenges. For her VCE music examination, Hariharran performed a twenty-minute set spanning multiple musical styles, while her VET subject requirement involved a thirty-five-minute performance alongside a band. 1 She made significant adjustments to her VCE song selection just one month before the examination. 1 Following her successful completion of both programs, Monash University has offered Hariharran a place in its Bachelor of Popular Music degree. 1
