Fashion designer John Galliano has withdrawn from a planned retrospective tribute at the 2027 Met Gala following renewed scrutiny of his past conduct.1 Galliano was announced as the subject of honor for the upcoming exhibition, but the announcement reignited controversy surrounding his 2011 dismissal from Dior over racist and antisemitic remarks, for which he was fined nearly 6,000 euros (8,900 dollars).1
