新版目录针对重点疾病进行了药物补充，其中包括糖尿病药物5种、高血压药物4种、慢性阻塞性肺疾病药物7种以及消化道疾病药物8种1。儿童用药得到重点关注，新增5种儿童专用药，同时有26种药物在原有成人剂型基础上补充了儿童剂型1。新版目录中明确标注儿童用法用量的品种增加到317种，适宜儿童使用的品规扩展至905个1。此外，目录收录了《国家结核病防治工作技术指南》中的全部26个药物1。
根据初步测算，新版目录药品占全国公立医疗卫生机构药品配备品种使用总量的71%1。分级别看，基层、二级、三级公立医疗卫生机构基本药物使用量占比分别为78%、74%、65%1。各级公立医疗卫生机构应在目录施行后两个月内完成本机构药物供应目录的更新调整1。

Pediatric care received particular attention in the revision. Five new pediatric-specific medications were introduced, while 26 existing adult formulations were supplemented with pediatric dosage forms 1. As a result, the number of essential medicines with clear pediatric dosing instructions increased to 317 varieties, and the total number of pediatric-appropriate pharmaceutical specifications rose to 905 1.
Initial assessments indicate that medicines in the new directory account for approximately 71 percent of all pharmaceutical varieties used across China's public healthcare institutions 1. At the facility level, essential medicines represent 78 percent of usage in primary care settings, 74 percent in secondary hospitals, and 65 percent in tertiary hospitals 1.
All public healthcare institutions nationwide have been directed to complete updates to their pharmaceutical supply catalogs within two months following the list's implementation 1.
