The drug was found in a ziplock bag positioned between the bacon and egg layers of the sandwich, which had been placed at the bottom of a fast-food bag 1.
The arrest formed part of an ongoing police investigation into illegal drug activity in the Broome region 1. According to police officer Ben Lucas, officers initially observed the bag contained fresh, hot chicken, but became suspicious upon discovering "a cold discarded McMuffin burger that had been secreted at the bottom of the bag" 1. The man has been charged with one count of possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply 1, and is scheduled to appear in court on September 9 1.
