The University of Queensland has agreed to compensate approximately 16,400 employees for systematic underpayment totaling around $11 million, including interest and superannuation contributions.1 The university has already distributed over $9.6 million to affected staff and paid a penalty of $175,000 to the Fair Work Ombudsman following the Tuesday agreement between the two parties.1 Each affected employee is owed an average of $564 in back pay.1
