The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced on Thursday that it is assuming leadership of the investigation into a Ryanair flight incident where a passenger was partially sucked out through a broken window, with Greek authorities cooperating in the probe. [1]
The incident occurred on July 10 aboard a Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by Air Malta, which was flying over Greek airspace when cabin depressurization occurred. [1] The flight was traveling from Thessaloniki, Greece to an area near Meinigen, Germany. [1]
A 61-year-old passenger sustained injuries including neck and shoulder wounds as well as friction burns during the event. [1] The aircraft involved was delivered in 2008. [1]
