Beginning the evening of August 23, the typhoon is expected to move slowly northeastward, approaching coastal areas along the western side of Guangdong's Leizhou Peninsula and southern Guangxi 1. Between August 21 at 8 p.m. and August 22 at 8 p.m., southwestern and southern coastal regions of Guangxi and southern Taiwan are predicted to experience heavy to torrential rainfall, with some areas receiving exceptionally heavy precipitation ranging from 250 to 280 millimeters 1.
