China has implemented a national standard governing the durability performance of electric vehicle power batteries, establishing requirements for battery available energy state display in vehicles and setting minimum performance degradation thresholds.1 The standard mandates that on-vehicle displays of available battery energy state must not deviate from actual measurements by more than 5%, while the virtual mileage calculation must align with real-world values within a relative error margin of 3%.1
For light-duty passenger vehicles, the standard specifies that battery available energy state should retain at least 82% after five years or 100,000 kilometers of use.1 After eight years or 160,000 kilometers, batteries must maintain no less than 75%, and by ten years or 200,000 kilometers, they should preserve at least 70%.1 Currently released as a recommended national standard, the specification is expected to be widely adopted across the industry in the future, driving advances in battery technology innovation and quality improvements throughout the sector.1
