陆委会、台港策进会与多个政府单位于7月24日在新北市板桥区召开座谈会，汇聚80多名港澳人士、港澳学生及大专院校侨辅人员，围绕港澳居民来台的相关问题进行讨论[1]。参与者表达了对中共"民族团结进步促进法"可能带来的长臂管辖扩张与跨境镇压问题的关切[1]。
陆委会港澳蒙藏处长卢长水在会上表示，"港澳居民具备专业技能、港澳学生拥有国际视野和多元背景，均为台湾社会与产业极力争取的人才，政府抱持欢迎态度"[1]。为应对相关挑战，政府已成立行政院层级的"跨机关协处平台"，从预防、反制、保护三个面向因应，并将完善相关法律[1]。
Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council and the Taiwan-Hong Kong Policy Promotion Association convened a roundtable discussion on July 24 in New Taipei City with more than 80 Hong Kong and Macau residents, students, and related personnel to address concerns about cross-border suppression and jurisdictional overreach. The central focus of the dialogue was the impact of the Chinese Communist Party's "Law on Promotion of Ethnic and Regional Ethnic Unity and Progress" and its expansion of extraterritorial enforcement against people in Hong Kong and Macau. [1] In response, the Mainland Affairs Council emphasized that an inter-agency coordination platform has been established at the Executive Yuan level to address the issue from three angles: prevention, countermeasures, and protection of affected individuals. [1]
During the meeting, Lu Chang-shui, director of the Mainland Affairs Council's Hong Kong, Macau and Mongolia-Tibet Department, stressed the government's welcoming stance toward Hong Kong and Macau residents, noting that "Hong Kong and Macau residents possess professional skills and Hong Kong and Macau students bring international perspectives and diverse backgrounds—all are talent that Taiwan's society and industries actively seek to attract."
